Barak joined our family in May 2013. He's a goofy lil' weirdo who spends half his time looking like a seal.

Some of the things we love about Barak:

He lets SoomSoom sit on top of him, nibble his ears, steal his things, thwack him on the head... essentially, bully him to no end
He loves us. Like REALLY loves us

He boops for treats
We taught him to give us kisses by holding apple pieces in our mouths
He guards us when we shower by curling up in front of the tub
He can't catch for the life of him
He sounds like a baby dinosaur
He (begrudgingly) lets us put ridiculous things on him - whether its socks on his ears, hats on his head, or flamingo float toys on his snout
He behaves during bath time

Barak is a bit of an anxious pup - he isn't the greatest around new people and gets pretty upset when he sees our suitcases come out of the closet. He can be vocal even when we wish he wouldn't and has chewed up a couple shoes in his lifetime. BUT when mired in routine, he thrives - he loves his daytime kong fixes and evening greenies, he (usually) enjoys his morning runs and hiding under the bed when its time to go out for a walk. While sometimes his anxieties can make our lives a bit more of a challenge, we love him and his quirks desperately.

SoomSoom

SoomSoom joined our family in February 2016. She's a super curious pup who snouts her way into everything, including trash cans, boxes, gym bags, and hearts.

Some of the things we love about SoomSoom:

She owns having a grumblebutt brother like no other
She loves everyone and everything. She's super friendly and super amenable
She's great with children - they can grab her tail, her snout, her ears, etc... and all she wants to do is sniff them
She sleeps through our Roomba continuously bumping into her
She's a great office dog and spends her days trolling colleagues to hold her chews while she noms on them
She walks daintily (... prances, really), which means she somehow hardly gets dirty, even when trudging through NYC's winter slush
She loves to hang out on the couch with us, even when Barak is hiding under the bed
She sleeps belly up 85% of the time
She can play with a toy for hours before it bores her
Her excited airplane ears and intense head tilts

SoomSoom is a determined counter creeper, despite our best efforts to train it out of her. She can get *overly* friendly sometimes, and in her excitement, might yank a chunk of hair or two. Like a true shiba, she has selective hearing and only listens to commands when she senses a reward to follow. BUT she's an amazing dog who gets along with everyone and is always down for a new adventure. She melts our hearts on a daily basis, whether its with her surprise dainty kisses, her unexpected couch snuggles, or her shenanigans with Barak.
